It was one of those nights when you just feel 'done'. 8:15pm trying to get my resistant kids ready for and in bed. Enough whining and complaining that I finally give up and announce,
M: "You guys are on your own, I'm done! Goodnight!"
I go into my bedroom and close the door. A few minutes later Odan comes in slowly with a scowl and closes the door behind him. He is staring at me with an angry face and says,
O: "I came in to tell you I'm mad at you."
Feeling defeated in every way I just stare blankly right back at him from where I am laying on my bed. He walks over and places his chin on my bed and says,
O: "Do you need to talk?"
I melt. Then ask,
M: "Do you need to talk?"
He nods and we talk about why he has been angry all night. It is because King had tagged him 'out' when we were playing Sharks and Minnows in our backyard earlier that night, and he had been so close to winning the game.

Tender moment. I read Odanisms everyday. I love that you share the lows, frustrations, joys and highs of parenthood! I'm excited to be a mama one day too!
